OPEN POSITION: Head Varsity Football Coach – Troy Buchanan High School

START DATE: 2023/2024 School Year

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide assistance for each participant to achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of sportsmanship and discipline, and an increased level of self-esteem.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To direct the planning, preparation, and coaching activities of the entire football program.
• To plan, schedule and conduct a regular program of practice and competition in accordance with rules of the school, the School Board, and the Missouri State High School Activities Association
• Direct the Football Staff in the preparation of analysis of opponent teams; analyze game statistics and tactical data of opponents and prepare game plans accordingly
• To assist the Director of Athletics in the distribution and collection of appropriate information i.e., Parent
• Consent Forms, Physical Examination Forms, Birth Certificates, Grade Report Forms at the end of each grading period, Accident Forms and any other information concerning the sport
• To attend the appropriate meetings pertaining to football as scheduled by the Missouri State High School
• Activities Association and the school, i.e., rules, clinics, scheduling meetings, etc.
• To assume responsibility for maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment pertaining to the sport
• To oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area assigned to the football program
• To assume responsibility for supervision, safety and welfare of students participating in the football program before, during and after scheduled practices and competitive contests
• To assume responsibility for submitting request for transportation forms to the Athletic Director
• To assist the Athletic Dept. in planning and organization of promotion and participant recruitment and recognition programs pertaining to the sport
• To perform other duties as assigned by the Administration
• To have a comprehension of MSHSAA practice policies and effectively integrate them into practice plans

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the major area of study
• Effective oral and written communication
• Demonstrated successful accomplishments as Football Coach in high school
