Grants can be a powerful piece of the fundraising puzzle for any nonprofit organization—but are they right for your organization? In this session we will:
- Discuss the essential components of an integrated fundraising plan
- Explain how grant writing and fundraising represent complimentary methods of ensuring a nonprofit's financial stability
- Outline the stages of the grant writing process
- Ask “Are you ready to add grants to your fundraising strategy?”
This session will be presented by Michelle Stevens
Michelle Stevens joined FOCUS St. Louis in July 2019 as the Director of Development, bringing more than 25 years of experience as a nonprofit professional to the team. She is passionate about developing meaningful relationships and collaborative partnerships.
At FOCUS St. Louis, she work in partnership with the President and CEO to set the organization’s strategic priorities and is responsible for all fundraising activities, including corporate and foundation giving, major gifts, grant writing, membership, and special events. Prior to joining FOCUS, Michelle was the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Bi-State Development and Grand Center, Inc.’s Vice President, where she was responsible for the organization’s comprehensive marketing and fundraising efforts. She has also served as the grant writer and director of the $12M comprehensive campaign at Fontbonne University and in alumni relations at St. Louis Priory. She currently serves as Secretary on the School Board at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School.
Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from North Carolina State University and Master of Business Administration from Saint Louis University.
She currently resides in St. Louis City with her husband and three children.
