Economic Development Administrative Manager

Job Summary

The Office of Economic Development fosters a positive business climate and encourages quality economic development through the support of local and regional economic development activities across the county. The Lincoln County Economic Development Center team works together to offer economic development services for all businesses – new and expanding, traditional and emerging, small and large. The service offerings include retention programs to ensure the continued competitiveness of Lincoln County’s economic base and job training to keep Lincoln County’s workforce the best in the nation. This position provides professional level support to the Economic Development Executive Director and is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the County’s Economic Initiative/Development Program.

 

Principal Accountabilities

The following duties are typical for this classification.   • Responds to economic development inquiries and requests for information from businesses, developers, prospects, and other stakeholders.
  • Performs administrative duties, which include writing, researching and outreach tasks related to promoting economic development in Lincoln County.
  • Create presentations and maintains Economic Development webpage and other communication material.
  • Reviews compliance documents for agencies funded through the economic development office.
  • May serve on boards and committees for local economic development organizations and partners.
  • May represent the County at appropriate business and community activities and events.
  • Oversee record-keeping, document control, and information management to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and greets office visitors.
  • Prepares reports, memos, letters, and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and/or presentation software.
  • Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

 

Experience & Education

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant administrative experience.
  • Possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
  • Proven experience in administrative management, preferably in a governmental or public works setting.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in office software

  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • In-depth understanding of administrative principles and practices.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Knowledge of county policies, regulations, and compliance standards.

 

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Most of the work is performed in a professional office setting and is sedentary. Must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Position requires continuous sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to manipulate keyboard, equipment controls, and other office equipment; pinch grasp to manipulate writing utensils. Frequent side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending, and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials; lifting objects weighing up to 25 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 yards. Occasional squatting, kneeling, reaching above and at shoulder height, moderate grasping to manipulate objects; lifting objects weighing 20-35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT - This job operates in a professional office environment. Professional attire required. This position routinely uses office equipment such as computers, calculators, multi-line telephones, photocopiers, printers and scanners, binding machines, hand-held recording devices, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is routinely in contact with the public, other Lincoln County, and State employees, elected officials, and members of other entities. Due to the subject matter of the position, the employee may be subject to stressful situations.
