Event Sales Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day venue operations, including event scheduling and coordination
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships through prompt and professional communication
  • Ensure that all events are executed smoothly, from setup to cleanup
  • Manage and supervise venue staff, including scheduling and training
  • Create and implement processes for event planning and execution, including event proposals, contracts, and invoices
  • Collaborate with team to secure new business and increase revenue
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the local event market and stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
  • Ensure that all venue policies and procedures are being followed, including health and safety regulations
  • Manage the venue budget and maintain accurate financial records

Event Sales Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a venue or similar establishment
  • Event planning experience preferred
  • Experience with event management software
  • Sales experience
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks simultaneously

Compensation

  • Hourly plus commission structure (Expected first year earnings range from $65,000 to $85,000, with uncapped commission based on sales performance)
